On the 3rd November I had a cheap Return ticket for Glasgow from Alnmouth. I had worked up there on possessions in 2004 and looked forward to my return. The weather wasn't so good with heavy rain and wind.
I signed in with the station manager and found all staff and BTP very helpful. I had a trip out to Coatbridge but nothing was running until I put my camera away when my train came in, then a pair of 86s headed north (Bugga!) I got a few shots and managed a couple of pints in the station bar. I think I'll return in the summer.
A few days in September when I managed not to get soaked and I was able to get a few shots off.
I went to the usual places for me. ECML south of Wooden Gate and managed to get a couple of Sir Nigel and just before that 'Roy Castle' sneaked up on us. I had my camera at work and took the chance to grab a few at Fenham Hill Crossing (St Cuthbert's Route) near Holy Island. I had to use my range finder so thought I'd Take A few shots with the camera stuck up against the eye piece. Not a bad result. I nearly missed a late running Widdrington - Lynemouth GBRF but just heard the rails 'ping' in time to get the camera up and running.
The Ferryhill ones are taken from NWR side of the fence as I was there on duty so why not abuse the situation while I was there. I'd love to have been there in the days of the BR Class 37, 40, 47, 55 on the Main and coming off the Leemside or Stylingtons. I've seen a Youtube of this and it is awesome.
I don't normaly venture near preserved lines. But this month I've been to 3. Ecclesbourne, Bedale and Boness when I was on Holiday.
I'd like to thank Micheal Hunt and Rob Crompton for their help in identifying the FGW trains in Wiltshire.
Also a few pictures from ECM7 and a one from the Blyth and Tyne through Northumberland. Weather wise it wasn't great but I managed to get a few soakings.
